Photo series, Fall 2019
In this series, the artist is shown outdoors, in natural settings, posed in relaxed and stretching positions. The nude female body, a common subject in art history contexts, is placed outdoors, contrasting private and public spaces. This series was made mostly for therapeutic reasons, finally allowing myself to experience the feeling of nakedness amongst rock, dirt, and earth which I had only ever experienced before as a young child. Coming to terms with my body as both a vessel and a home, feeling the connection between my physical, mental, and emotional body with the energy of the earth.
